Governor Jim Doyle announced Aug. 22 that he has appointed Chris Fitzgerald to be the new sheriff in Barron County.

The Aging and Disability Resource Center , the answer to long-term care, should be opening its Burnett County doors in February 2009.

Deputies say a 5-year-old boy was hurt after crashing his ATV on Friday. The boy was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in the Twin Cities where his condition is unknown.
